Taxonomical Studies on the Korean Native Flora



Abstract
According to the flower color and morphological characteristics of leaves and flowers, new horticultural cultivars of Cymbidium kanran collected from various habitat regions of Mt. Halla in Jejudo, Korea and grown on pots were classified.
12 cultivars of purplish red flowering type are ¢¥Suak¢¥, ¢¥Jahak¢¥, ¢¥Hoesim¢¥, ¢¥Janggeom¢¥, ¢¥Jakseol¢¥, ¢¥Sinryae¢¥, ¢¥Haewu¢¥, ¢¥Ungbii¢¥, ¢¥Jailpum¢¥, ¢¥Choyeon¢¥, ¢¥Rakjo¢¥ and ¢¥Gunhak¢¥.
16 cultivars of yellowish green flowering type are ¢¥Ungyeo¢¥, ¢¥Daehan¢¥, ¢¥Rokyeong¢¥, ¢¥Gunma¢¥, ¢¥Biiyeon¢¥, ¢¥Jeohong¢¥, ¢¥Jejuil¢¥, ¢¥Tamra¢¥, ¢¥Choro¢¥, ¢¥Seonhak¢¥, ¢¥Rokilmun¢¥, ¢¥Goseung¢¥, ¢¥Rokui¢¥, ¢¥Chusa¢¥, ¢¥Seonrok¢¥ and ¢¥Muhee¢¥.
¢¥Jeokilmun¢¥ and ¢¥Chukwang¢¥ are red colored flower. Thus, total 30 cultivars of Cymbidium kanran were classified and named newly, and wide leaf type and leaf-variegation type of the orchid were observed.
